Food is incredibly, steaks are awesome and well cooked. Every time I go with my family we get the salad bar which is 10/10. Anyways, service is always the best and the and the environment is always really nice. Recommend 10/10 for everyone.

What a great experience as a new Texan! We went for a family birthday dinner and had such a fun, delicious meal. It's truly an event to check out the various pieces of Texas memorabilia while you wait to be seated. The service was outstanding. We got to pick our steaks in the kitchen and take a candid photo with some of their tomahawk steaks. The kabob style entree I ordered was so tender, perfectly cooked to medium rare, and came with a substantial serving of mashed potatoes and fresh grilled veggies. For dessert, we had to try a slice of the pecan pie with cinnamon ice cream (which we learned is exclusive to the restaurant). If you are looking for a truly Texas experience with family, go make a reservation today! I'll definitely be taking other family and friends here when they are in town.

The Hungry Hardhat can only say that Taste of Texas is bar none the BEST dining experience I have ever had anywhere in the country. The customer service... The food... The tour of the kitchen and of course the company made for an evening like no other. I don't care what part of Texas you live or are traveling through you MUST put Taste of Texas on your HIT LIST. This is my entire family's favorite place to dine! From the food, the drinks and the staff!!! They really know how to make each table feel loved! Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. Its definitely a unique experience and feels very Texas hospitality. The service was very friendly and you feel right at home, so not the high end, sorta snooty service. Its a mix of upscale/casual since there is a "dress code" but everyone's friendly and welcoming. Food wise, I enjoyed everything I had. I started with the cinnamon slammer which is legit just a boozy milkshake and amazing. I got a 16oz ribeye and it was a fun experience of choosing my own steak and watching them cut it to my liking. It was cooked well and I got the truffle butter on too which added a great earthyness. Ended the meal with some pecan pie and it was also great, stacked with pecans and it was suuuch a tall slice. Overall, this was such a fun and sort of unique dining experience!

I've never been here before but was told multiple times that I had to try while I was in Houston! I went right when they opened on a weekend and there was no wait. The waitlist was open on Yelp but there was no need. We were able to walk right in and get seated right away. However, I know if you come during peak hours, the wait will be insane. They do have some portable air conditioners installed outside for those waiting. Once we walked in, we were helped right away. When you order drink, such as soda, they also give you a whole large bottle. They also provide a small appetizer! We ordered a tomahawk steak, crab cake, mushrooms, and sweet potato! The steak comes with only one salad bar, so we ordered 2 more salad bars since we were 3 people. The salad bar was amazing. It reminded me of a smaller Souplantation! It comes with everything you may want in a salad, as well as fruit and bread. They have 3 different types of bread, a jalepeno corn bread, a cheese bread, and a regular roll. All three were amazing! I especially liked the cheese and the regular rolls!! They also let you go in the back and choose your steak(s)! The tomahawk was also amazing. It came with sides which we opted for sweet potato and mushrooms. Everything was so so good. We also got some dessert. We ordered some apple dumplings that came with cinnamon ice cream. It was a bit too sweet for us but still delicious! Our server was also really friendly too! Overall, I definitely would be recommending this place for anyone who's in Houston!

Food, service, and attention to detail. Taste of Texas had it all! I booked a reservation a month in advance and arrived right at our booking time. We were seated immediately in one of the side wine rooms. Our waitress, Mayra was excellent! She gave us excellent education on the resturant and menu. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip for the table, my husband had a perfect mint julip to drink, two different cuts of steaks cooked perfectly rare (we loved picking out our cuts at the display), a sweet potato with pecans and the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and Mayra took care of us the whole way. My water glass was never halfway empty, she checked on us between each item, and made my husband's birthday perfect with the picture and cheesecake at the end. I also loved watching the whole production of the resturant from the napkin folding, to the dessert trays. The management and staffs coordination throughout the night was seamless.
